Life Endings

Time, space, and support for life's final journey.

Linda Coppel

Certified End-of-Life Doula

What Matters to Me

When someone is diagnosed with a life limiting illness, life can suddenly feel very uncertain. There may be medical decisions to make, practical things to sort out, and difficult conversations to begin.

My aim is to help people feel supported to live their life as fully as possible in the time that remains.

Time to talk, time to express feelings, time to sit quietly and simply be with the person, and support those close to them through what can be an incredibly challenging time. In a world where everyone is under pressure, unhurried time is often what matters the most.

How I Can Help

Every person has their own way of experiencing illness, dying and death. My role is to listen carefully, and to understand what is important to that particular person.

I can be a regular and reassuring presence: someone to have conversations about dying and death with, and to explore relationships, unresolved issues and what matters most. I can help with advance planning and communicating wishes, and with everyday practicalities if needed, so that life can be lived right up to the end.

For Families and Carers

My support reaches the people around the person, too. I can become a familiar presence to be relied on, which can be invaluable for working family members, for those living some distance away, and for anyone coping with the emotional demands of caring.

Alongside Your Clinical Care

I work alongside existing GP, hospice, palliative care, nursing and social services. My support complements professional clinical care and does not in any way replace it.

Experience and Professional Background

I am a Certified End of Life Doula, trained at Crossfields Institute, and a member of End of Life Doula UK.

I have worked as a therapist for over 30 years, with both individuals and communities, and as a bereavement counsellor for 16 years.

Let's Have a Conversation

We can simply talk about your situation and your needs, and whether my support would be right for you.
